The historical San Francisco African American Art and Culture Complex is hosting an open house Thursday October 26, 2017, from 4 p.m. until the party is over. The public is invited to come and meet the new twin Executive Directors Melonie and Melorra Green and view the transformation of the space, located at 762 Fulton St. San Francisco CA 94102. You are invited to see the newly transformed space and find out more about the many exciting current and upcoming programs the AAACC has to offer.
The African American Art & Culture Complex, “The Center”, has been home to countless artists based in the Bay Area and some who have even been simply passing through. It is a space where legends are made and legacy is built. It is a beacon of light and hope, imagination and creativity, birth and freedom.
The night features TWO exhibition opening receptions: THE BLUE PERIOD – The Art of Malik Seneferu and HOMECOMING: Legacy. Legendary. where we tip our hats to “The Center” AND the people who have contributed and dedicated their lives to the arts and culture of African Americans and people of the African diaspora.
The African American Art & Culture Complex is honored to present murals by Bay Area artists Bessie Johnson, Keith K Dub Williams, Danny King, Melanin Buford, and Eesuu Orundide.
Youth programming includes Project Level with Danielle Banks and Big Rich; Handful Players, Larkin Bushido Karate, and more. The art incubator series presents: SFBATCO, Fely Tchaco, Micah Morgan, Push Dance, Christopher Burch and Luna Malbroux.
