Juneteenth is a nationally celebrated commemoration of the historical ending of slavery in 1865. As one of the oldest observed holidays, its popularity has grown in recent years, with it becoming the newest federal holiday in 2022. Since the beginning of the Juneteenth celebrations, communities across the United States have celebrated in a variety of ways, including parades, picnics, and gatherings to honor, respect, and support the freedom of all enslaved people.
